Mockingbird Come Home - A Book of Poetry - Book Review

"Poetry can not be created of words alone." How pretty correct, and getting a poet, Stephen B. Wiley presents so a great deal extra than words in his excellent collection, "Mockingbird Come Dwelling." The pages right here are filled with memories and moments, feelings, settings, and paintings artistically produced with words.

"Mockingbird Come Property" is what poetry is meant to be. Depicting a moment in time, a spot in the heart, he writes of "Exactly where We Reside" and "Who We Are," the two sections of the book. The "Exactly where" is about locations I know personally, not that it matters, for the settings described in Vermont, Florida, and New Jersey are simply noticed with the imagination, helped along with Wiley's words. From a low-water Lake Champlain to the colorful vibrancy of Crucial West, the memories of areas he shares are far more personal than postcards. The "who" is even extra endearing, with tales told so eloquently of gnarled and vein mapped hands, the grandparent naps just before dinner, and the poet who becomes the poem.

Reading the verses of Stephen B. Wiley is a joy to be compared with spending a day in an art gallery. The admirer will see diverse elements of each and every perform of art, possibly what the artist/poet intended, but possibly one thing else completely. The joy is in the discovery. "Mockingbird Come Dwelling" is a poetic delight of great operate. I loved it.
